Premise

Codename: VAPORPHONE is an alternate version of the 1980s with some technology brought back from todays time, and mainly set in Lincoln, England. In-person jobs are either scarse or not very well paid so a newly founded and popular type of work has been phone hotlines. The uses of these hotlines vary, but most offer some kind of companionship in a listening ear, someone to talk to, or... less innocent kinds of interaction.

The Bad Sex Hotline

True to it's name, the Bad Sex Hotline is a number which people can call to complain about their bad or unsatisfying sexual or romantic experiences. The caller submits their banking information and pays for every 10 minutes spent on the line. The service was founded by a woman called Ophelia Chance in 1981.
